Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Trading and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.28% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL), which rose 15.38% or 8.00 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 13.56% or 0.80 points to 6.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which fell 22.58% or 350.00 points to trade at 1200.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 97 to 55 and 58 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.23% or 0.13 to $57.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $63.48 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 4.50 to trade at $1252.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.04% to 204.710, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 153.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.75.
