Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading, Motors and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 1.10% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) added 20.63% or 135.10 points to end at 790.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 15.38% or 0.20 points to 1.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which fell 5.56% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 5.02% or 100.30 points to end at 1899.00 and Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) was down 4.61% or 2.90 points to 60.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 181 to 56 and 16 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.60% or 0.72 to $44.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.36% or 0.69 to hit $50.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.62% or 6.90 to trade at $1111.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 206.910, while USD/LKR fell 0.76% to 132.760.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.26.
