Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Trading and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 13.77% or 1.90 points to trade at 15.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) added 12.68% or 0.90 points to end at 8.00 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 11.48% or 3.50 points to 34.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which fell 10.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) declined 7.27% or 8.00 points to end at 102.00 and Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) was down 7.14% or 2.40 points to 31.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 127 to 43 and 45 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.18% or 0.56 to $47.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.13% or 0.55 to hit $49.35 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1366.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.76% to 187.830, while USD/LKR fell 0.19% to 145.355.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.10.
