Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Trading and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.14% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which rose 19.05% or 20.00 points to trade at 125.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) added 14.74% or 80.30 points to end at 624.90 and Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) was up 14.67% or 1.10 points to 8.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY), which fell 12.09% or 52.00 points to trade at 378.00 at the close. Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) declined 7.14% or 3.50 points to end at 45.50 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 7.01% or 4.20 points to 55.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 120 to 56 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.12% or 0.53 to $46.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.18% or 0.58 to hit $48.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1343.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.15% to 190.760, while USD/LKR fell 0.17% to 145.275.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.38.
