Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Diversified Holdings and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 28.57% or 0.2000 points to trade at 0.9000 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 21.67% or 65.00 points to end at 365.00 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was up 15.97% or 9.90 points to 71.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which fell 15.00% or 15.00 points to trade at 85.00 at the close. Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) declined 11.39% or 0.90 points to end at 7.00 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) was down 7.69% or 50.00 points to 600.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 97 to 82 and 60 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.05% or 0.02 to $43.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.35 to trade at $1344.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 188.600, while USD/LKR rose 0.09% to 145.570.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.83.
