Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Information Technology and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which rose 22.52% or 13.60 points to trade at 74.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) added 16.78% or 71.40 points to end at 497.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO), which fell 16.94% or 253.90 points to trade at 1245.00 at the close. Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) declined 9.55% or 7.00 points to end at 66.30 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was down 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 83 and 51 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.46% or 0.23 to $49.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.51% or 0.26 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1244.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 210.645, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 145.680.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 93.82.
