Investing.com -- Sirius XM Holding Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) extended its broadcast and marketing agreement with the NFL for six additional years after the two sides agreed to terms on a long-term deal on Wednesday afternoon.
The agreement provides Sirius with the license to broadcast every NFL game, including preseason contests, through Super Bowl LVI in 2022. The current agreement inked in 2010 was scheduled to expire following the conclusion of Super Bowl 50 in February. In 2003, Sirius XM and the NFL agreed on a landmark seven-year, $220 million contract, which surpassed similar satellite broadcasting agreements involving the NBA and NHL by a wide margin.
Terms of Wednesday's agreement were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to extend and expand our partnership with SiriusXM into the next decade," said Brian Rolapp, the NFL's executive vice president, Media. "SiriusXM has been a valuable partner and provides our fans with tremendous content throughout the year and on gameday."
Sirius XM's NFL Radio channel is the only radio network of its kind to offer 24/7 coverage of the league. The channel's roster of hosts includes accomplished former players such as Tim Brown, Amani Toomer, James Lofton and Solomon Wilcots, as well as a number of former scouts and front office executives. Sirius NFL Radio also offers multiple Spanish-language broadcasting each week on top of a wide array of live programming for every NFL game.

Shares in Sirius closed on Wednesday down 0.02 or 0.51% at 3.89.
