Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction, Banking and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 4.55%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which fell 1.04% or 0.07 points to trade at 6.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) fell 1.30% or 1.80 points to end at 136.43 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 1.39% or 0.30 points to 21.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 9.89% or 548.80 points to trade at 5000.00 at the close. mBank SA (WA:MBK) declined 8.73% or 29.10 points to end at 304.30 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 7.87% or 4.35 points to 50.89.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 445 to 90 and 144 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 4.31% or 2.16 to $47.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 4.36% or 2.22 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 4.70% or 59.40 to trade at $1322.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 2.11% to 4.4586, while USD/PLN rose 4.41% to 4.0048.
The US Dollar Index was up 2.35% at 95.52.
