Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.19%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 0.68% or 0.34 points to trade at 50.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Boryszew SA (WA:BORY) added 0.20% or 0.01 points to end at 5.03 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 0.15% or 0.02 points to 13.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 7.93% or 4.11 points to trade at 47.70 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 5.17% or 4.87 points to end at 89.36 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was down 4.01% or 3.79 points to 90.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 373 to 181 and 128 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.07% or 0.03 to $45.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.42% or 28.50 to trade at $1147.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.16% to 4.2782, while USD/PLN fell 0.53% to 3.9027.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 97.46.
