Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.14%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 5.67% or 2.65 points to trade at 49.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.69% or 0.10 points to end at 6.00 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.44% or 0.60 points to 42.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which fell 10.65% or 0.62 points to trade at 5.20 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 3.70% or 5.95 points to end at 155.00 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 3.31% or 2.60 points to 75.93.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 376 to 186 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Boryszew SA (WA:BORY) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.65% or 0.62 to 5.20.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 7.89% or 3.88 to $45.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 8.72% or 4.72 to hit $49.43 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.20 to trade at $1139.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.43% to 4.2493, while USD/PLN fell 0.36% to 3.7619.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 95.44.
