Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.51%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which rose 0.74% or 0.04 points to trade at 5.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 0.28% or 0.15 points to end at 54.00 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 0.23% or 0.60 points to 266.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 3.91% or 3.01 points to trade at 73.99 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.13% or 2.41 points to end at 74.49 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was down 2.66% or 1.30 points to 47.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 283 to 213 and 181 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.46% or 0.75 to $50.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.22% or 0.64 to hit $51.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.80% or 10.15 to trade at $1272.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.43% to 4.3373, while USD/PLN rose 1.07% to 3.8312.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 94.02.
