Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 2.30% or 0.53 points to trade at 23.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 2.27% or 1.34 points to end at 60.50 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 1.94% or 1.79 points to 93.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 5.65% or 4.85 points to trade at 81.00 at the close. ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) declined 5.40% or 6.45 points to end at 113.05 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 3.67% or 5.50 points to 144.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 287 to 229 and 167 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 4.96% or 1.78 to $37.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 5.02% or 1.90 to hit $39.77 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.30 to trade at $1227.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.2660, while USD/PLN fell 0.39% to 3.7346.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 94.32.
