Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.66% or 2.10 points to trade at 80.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 2.61% or 1.49 points to end at 58.55 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 2.09% or 0.10 points to 4.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 6.86% or 5.52 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 6.07% or 0.82 points to end at 12.70 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 2.74% or 3.10 points to 110.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 357 to 185 and 117 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.86% or 5.52 to 75.00. Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) fell to all time lows; falling 6.07% or 0.82 to 12.70.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.47% or 0.87 to $58.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.99% or 0.62 to hit $62.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.28% or 3.30 to trade at $1171.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.29% to 4.1707, while USD/PLN fell 0.81% to 3.7115.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.77% at 95.64.
