Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Developers and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which rose 1.92% or 3.05 points to trade at 162.20 at the close. Meanwhile, PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) added 1.64% or 0.48 points to end at 29.70 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 1.59% or 2.00 points to 127.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 3.37% or 6.50 points to trade at 186.50 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 1.94% or 1.68 points to end at 84.77 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was down 1.35% or 0.16 points to 11.69.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 276 to 273 and 111 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.08% or 1.45 to $45.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 4.11% or 2.15 to hit $50.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.37% or 4.10 to trade at $1091.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.1459, while USD/PLN rose 0.32% to 3.7826.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 97.51.
