Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 2.99% or 2.00 points to trade at 68.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 2.51% or 1.36 points to end at 55.46 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 2.21% or 0.28 points to 12.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 2.38% or 2.00 points to trade at 82.00 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 1.21% or 3.60 points to end at 293.75 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 0.90% or 0.12 points to 13.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 264 to 250 and 174 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.89% or 0.75 to $40.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.22% or 0.93 to hit $42.87 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.29% or 16.10 to trade at $1259.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.41% to 4.2793, while USD/PLN fell 0.54% to 3.7494.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 93.95.
