Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Media and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 2.38%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 8.68% or 0.99 points to trade at 12.39 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) added 6.19% or 4.89 points to end at 83.89 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 5.20% or 15.05 points to 304.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 2.26% or 0.39 points to trade at 16.90 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 1.76% or 0.79 points to end at 44.11 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was down 0.99% or 0.13 points to 13.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 315 to 219 and 117 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.35% or 1.07 to $46.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.98% or 1.44 to hit $49.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.30 to trade at $1133.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.04% to 4.2474, while USD/PLN rose 0.11% to 3.7975.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.20.
