Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Developers and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.97%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 9.76% or 1.28 points to trade at 14.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 6.29% or 2.22 points to end at 37.51 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 5.38% or 0.49 points to 9.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO), which fell 0.91% or 0.22 points to trade at 23.89 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 0.58% or 0.31 points to end at 53.39 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was down 0.39% or 0.02 points to 5.13.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 293 to 219 and 150 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.96% or 0.47 to $48.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.76% or 0.38 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 2.41% or 29.25 to trade at $1241.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.06% to 4.3870, while USD/PLN fell 1.50% to 3.8721.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.49% at 94.14.
