Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Developers and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 12.43% or 2.36 points to trade at 21.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 4.42% or 2.18 points to end at 51.49 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 3.47% or 1.75 points to 52.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 1.25% or 0.16 points to trade at 12.69 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 1.17% or 61.00 points to end at 5139.00 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 1.10% or 3.45 points to 311.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 251 to 237 and 200 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.75% or 0.80 to $44.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.53% or 0.72 to hit $46.45 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.70% or 9.30 to trade at $1328.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.38% to 4.3561, while USD/PLN fell 0.39% to 3.9554.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.02.
