Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 3.41% or 0.49 points to trade at 14.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 3.20% or 0.69 points to end at 22.22 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 3.10% or 154.45 points to 5134.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 4.22% or 3.13 points to trade at 71.05 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 2.82% or 7.55 points to end at 259.95 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 1.95% or 6.20 points to 312.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 270 to 247 and 156 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.06% or 1.00 to $49.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.65% or 0.82 to hit $50.46 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.55 to trade at $1247.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.79% to 4.3552, while USD/PLN fell 0.68% to 3.8357.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.03.
