Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 2.25% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Credicorp (LM:BAP), which rose 5.89% or 5.800 points to trade at 104.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 5.06% or 0.130 points to end at 2.700 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) was up 4.17% or 0.200 points to 5.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Panoro (LM:PML), which fell 12.50% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.070 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) declined 8.33% or 0.010 points to end at 0.110 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 5.00% or 0.015 points to 0.285.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 11 and 11 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.24% or 0.62 to $27.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.86% or 0.56 to hit $30.89 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1197.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.16% to 3.5065, while EUR/PEN rose 0.66% to 3.9443.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.86.
