Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Diversified Financials and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.26% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 24.74% or 4.08 points to trade at 20.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) added 6.47% or 2.15 points to end at 32.40 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) was up 5.90% or 1.6 points to 28.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which fell 4.66% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.51 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 2.28% or 6.6 points to end at 282.7 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was down 1.79% or 0.2 points to 8.8.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 93 to 78 and 25 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.77% or 0.81 to $44.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 0.73 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.70% or 9.20 to trade at $1328.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.30% to 9.3329, while USD/NOK fell 0.33% to 8.4725.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.02.
