Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.19% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 8.71% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) added 4.04% or 1.61 points to end at 38.56 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was up 3.21% or 0.3 points to 9.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 4.96% or 0.6 points to trade at 11.5 at the close. Orkla ASA (OL:ORK) declined 2.22% or 1.85 points to end at 81.55 and Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) was down 1.67% or 3.7 points to 217.3.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 95 to 80 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.67% or 3.7 to 217.3.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.16% or 1.05 to $49.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.91% or 0.97 to hit $51.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1268.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.27% to 8.9962, while USD/NOK rose 0.35% to 8.0348.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.22.
