Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which rose 4.71% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.890 at the close. Meanwhile, Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) added 3.39% or 0.020 points to end at 0.580 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was up 3.21% or 10.27 points to 329.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 4.39% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.160 at the close. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) declined 3.85% or 0.25 points to end at 6.27 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was down 1.67% or 0.01 points to 0.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 24 to 11 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) rose to all time highs; rising 3.21% or 10.27 to 329.50. Shares in Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.67% or 0.01 to 0.58.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.85% or 0.92 to $48.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.33% or 0.67 to hit $49.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.78% or 9.95 to trade at $1279.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.29% to 346.530, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 316.500.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 98.43.
