Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 3.72% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italcementi (MI:ITAI), which fell 0.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 10.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) fell 0.31% or 0.0400 points to end at 12.6900 and ENI (MI:ENI) was down 2.06% or 0.2900 points to 13.7700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unipol (MI:UNPI), which fell 6.85% or 0.212 points to trade at 2.884 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 6.57% or 1.64 points to end at 23.31 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was down 6.57% or 0.2000 points to 2.8440.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 378 to 37 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.55% or 1.29 to $49.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.39% or 1.24 to hit $50.71 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.15 to trade at $1274.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1282, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.7872.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 94.42.
