Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which rose 3.01% or 0.190 points to trade at 6.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Snam (MI:SRG) added 0.20% or 0.010 points to end at 5.020 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was up 0.06% or 0.01 points to 8.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which fell 5.18% or 0.2160 points to trade at 3.9540 at the close. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) declined 4.70% or 0.1300 points to end at 2.6360 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) was down 4.66% or 0.0285 points to 0.5830.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 298 to 99 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) fell to all time lows; down 5.18% or 0.2160 to 3.9540. Shares in Unicredit (MI:CRDI) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.70% or 0.1300 to 2.6360.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.51% or 0.25 to $48.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.18 to hit $49.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 2.52% or 30.55 to trade at $1243.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.69% to 1.1342, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.7811.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.58% at 94.05.
