Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol (MI:UNPI), which rose 1.42% or 0.036 points to trade at 2.580 at the close. Meanwhile, UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) added 1.38% or 0.021 points to end at 1.547 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 1.30% or 0.085 points to 6.610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which fell 2.50% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.340 at the close. Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) declined 2.38% or 0.0096 points to end at 0.3940 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 2.09% or 0.26 points to 12.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 222 to 183 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.11% or 0.05 to $44.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.64% or 0.78 to hit $46.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.58% or 20.95 to trade at $1347.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.1242, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8368.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.87% at 94.91.
