Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which rose 3.55% or 0.146 points to trade at 4.256 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A (MILAN:A2) added 2.79% or 0.031 points to end at 1.141 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) was up 2.24% or 0.2600 points to 11.8700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT), which fell 4.36% or 0.0480 points to trade at 1.0540 at the close. Enel (MILAN:ENEI) declined 2.46% or 0.0980 points to end at 3.8900 and Banco Popolare Sc (MILAN:BAPO) was down 2.19% or 0.2900 points to 12.9300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 241 to 198 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.24% or 0.11 to $45.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.78% or 0.38 to hit $47.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1114.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1190, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.7383.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 96.23.
