Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 2.50% or 0.1700 points to trade at 6.9750 at the close. Meanwhile, Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI) added 2.05% or 0.220 points to end at 10.960 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) was up 1.55% or 0.056 points to 3.672 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which fell 3.29% or 0.2650 points to trade at 7.7850 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 2.19% or 0.0580 points to end at 2.5920 and Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) was down 2.04% or 1.02 points to 48.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 216 to 175 and 21 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 4.13% or 1.50 to $37.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 3.12% or 1.21 to hit $39.95 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1230.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1074, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.7859.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 96.95.
