Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 2.10%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 0.49% or 0.05 points to trade at 10.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) added 0.08% or 0.01 points to end at 12.91 and Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) was down 0.21% or 0.02 points to 9.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 4.47% or 0.198 points to trade at 4.236 at the close. Mediolanum (MILAN:MED) declined 3.82% or 0.300 points to end at 7.550 and UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) was down 3.54% or 0.265 points to 7.225.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 408 to 60 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.57% or 0.33 to $57.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.56% or 0.34 to hit $61.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.30 to trade at $1167.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.18% to 1.1105, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7275.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.04% at 96.49.
