Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 1.75%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Yoox (MILAN:YOOXm), which rose 2.94% or 0.85 points to trade at 29.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Exor (MILAN:EXOR) added 0.28% or 0.12 points to end at 43.21 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) was up 0.10% or 0.010 points to 10.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which fell 3.99% or 0.49 points to trade at 11.78 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 3.84% or 1.09 points to end at 27.31 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was down 3.65% or 0.53 points to 13.99.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 422 to 66 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yoox (MILAN:YOOXm) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.94% or 0.85 to 29.78.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.59% or 0.33 to $56.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.29% or 0.18 to hit $63.13 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1196.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.0731, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 98.11.
