Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 1.32%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 1.76% or 0.15 points to trade at 8.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) added 1.46% or 0.17 points to end at 11.80 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) was up 0.87% or 0.24 points to 27.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yoox (MILAN:YOOX), which fell 3.08% or 0.95 points to trade at 29.92 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII) declined 3.03% or 0.260 points to end at 8.325 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) was down 2.73% or 0.0280 points to 0.9960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 297 to 153 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.52% or 0.26 to $50.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.24% or 0.14 to hit $56.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.20 to trade at $1104.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.05% to 1.0938, while EUR/GBP rose 1.08% to 0.7031.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.76% at 97.44.
