Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT), which rose 0.94% or 0.011 points to trade at 1.179 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) added 0.88% or 0.0160 points to end at 1.8430 and Mediobanca (MILAN:MDBI) was up 0.64% or 0.060 points to 9.460 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which fell 13.58% or 1.61 points to trade at 10.25 at the close. Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) declined 3.73% or 0.50 points to end at 12.90 and Enel (MILAN:ENEI) was down 2.42% or 0.106 points to 4.266.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 326 to 134 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.94% or 0.011 to 1.179.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.65% or 1.58 to $58.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.74% or 1.75 to hit $62.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.84% or 10.00 to trade at $1174.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1289, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.7345.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 95.25.
