Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT), which rose 0.61% or 0.007 points to trade at 1.155 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset (MILAN:MS) added 0.54% or 0.024 points to end at 4.496 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) was up 0.48% or 0.0045 points to 0.9485 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which fell 2.26% or 0.21 points to trade at 9.30 at the close. Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) declined 1.80% or 0.53 points to end at 28.97 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII) was down 1.23% or 0.100 points to 8.010.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 309 to 133 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.46% or 1.40 to $55.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.73% or 1.70 to hit $60.38 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.33% or 3.80 to trade at $1167.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1100, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.7128.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.22.
