Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which rose 1.76% or 0.11 points to trade at 6.25 at the close. Meanwhile, ENI (MI:ENI) added 1.07% or 0.16 points to end at 15.13 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 0.83% or 0.100 points to 12.180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which fell 3.69% or 0.41 points to trade at 10.70 at the close. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 3.07% or 0.28 points to end at 8.77 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) was down 2.70% or 0.210 points to 7.570.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 271 to 89 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.69% or 0.41 to 10.70.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.21% or 0.14 to $67.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $77.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.89% or 11.00 to trade at $1240.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1408, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8887.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 96.12.
