Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 2.38% or 0.051 points to trade at 2.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Generali (MI:GASI) added 2.32% or 0.33 points to end at 14.55 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 2.08% or 0.058 points to 2.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US), which fell 4.42% or 0.087 points to trade at 1.882 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 3.25% or 0.52 points to end at 15.35 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) was down 2.52% or 0.094 points to 3.643.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 204 to 158 and 22 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.57% or 1.07 to $67.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.48% or 0.37 to hit $78.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1301.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1664, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.09.
