Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.15% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 12.20% or 0.0473 points to trade at 0.4350 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) added 4.32% or 0.2650 points to end at 6.4050 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 4.21% or 0.1440 points to 3.5620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tod'S (MI:TOD), which fell 2.37% or 1.45 points to trade at 59.70 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 1.40% or 0.20 points to end at 14.06 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was down 1.38% or 0.12 points to 8.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 233 to 177 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.86% or 0.39 to $45.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.98% or 0.46 to hit $47.39 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.19% or 14.85 to trade at $1265.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7764.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 93.88.
