Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 3.57% or 0.225 points to trade at 6.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.91% or 0.3400 points to end at 12.0300 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 2.74% or 0.65 points to 24.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 2.19% or 0.0058 points to trade at 0.2590 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 1.52% or 0.31 points to end at 20.12 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was down 0.93% or 0.0550 points to 5.8450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 238 to 138 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) fell to all time lows; down 2.19% or 0.0058 to 0.2590.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.38% or 0.97 to $41.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.20% or 0.95 to hit $44.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.65 to trade at $1369.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1134, while EUR/GBP rose 1.36% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.67.
