Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 2.22%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX), which rose 4.38% or 2.55 points to trade at 60.75 at the close. Meanwhile, UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) added 4.03% or 0.295 points to end at 7.615 and Campari (MILAN:CPRI) was up 3.96% or 0.28 points to 7.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 1.43% or 0.1500 points to trade at 10.3500 at the close. Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) declined 0.89% or 0.12 points to end at 13.30 and Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) was down 0.80% or 0.10 points to 12.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 329 to 142 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.07% or 1.85 to $58.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.89% or 1.92 to hit $64.36 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.63% or 20.00 to trade at $1207.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.53% to 1.1142, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7186.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.25% at 95.40.
