Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MILAN:US), which rose 3.35% or 0.076 points to trade at 2.342 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A (MILAN:A2) added 3.27% or 0.036 points to end at 1.136 and Enel (MILAN:ENEI) was up 2.83% or 0.120 points to 4.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which fell 1.59% or 0.16 points to trade at 9.91 at the close. Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) declined 0.50% or 0.060 points to end at 11.840 and Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) was down 0.34% or 0.06 points to 17.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 289 to 176 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.12% or 0.07 to $59.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $63.30 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1171.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1137, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7081.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 95.81.
