Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM), which rose 2.12% or 0.155 points to trade at 7.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Exor (MILAN:EXOR) added 2.01% or 0.88 points to end at 44.69 and Enel (MILAN:ENEI) was up 1.43% or 0.062 points to 4.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 6.52% or 0.6750 points to trade at 9.6750 at the close. Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) declined 5.01% or 1.44 points to end at 27.32 and Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) was down 2.25% or 0.20 points to 8.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 261 to 208 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Exor (MILAN:EXOR) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.01% or 0.88 to 44.69.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.66% or 0.96 to $58.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.46% or 0.94 to hit $64.95 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1209.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.1092, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7134.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 95.68.
