Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 4.77% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Intrakat (AT:INCr), which rose 14.00% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Meanwhile, Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) added 4.17% or 0.25 points to end at 6.25 and Elgeka (AT:ELGr) was up 3.92% or 0.010 points to 0.265 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which fell 10.91% or 0.11 points to trade at 0.88 at the close. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) declined 10.00% or 0.010 points to end at 0.090 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was down 9.97% or 0.036 points to 0.325.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 16 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.72% or 8.50 to $1177.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.63% or 0.38 to hit $60.38 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $63.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7190.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.35.
