Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Food and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.86% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.151 at the close. Meanwhile, Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 4.71% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.2000 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 4.08% or 0.080 points to 2.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Folli Follie (AT:HDFr), which fell 8.93% or 1.81 points to trade at 18.45 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 5.26% or 0.070 points to end at 1.260 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was down 5.24% or 0.210 points to 3.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 66 to 28 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.39% or 4.55 to $1169.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.47% or 2.21 to hit $51.65 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.69% or 2.43 to trade at $54.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0612, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8438.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 101.38.
