Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Household and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.69%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which rose 4.61% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.499 at the close. Meanwhile, Terna Energy (AT:TENr) added 2.63% or 0.08 points to end at 3.12 and Elgeka (AT:ELGr) was up 2.00% or 0.005 points to 0.255 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 7.50% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 6.54% or 0.070 points to end at 1.000 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was down 6.24% or 0.33 points to 4.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 23 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.10 to $1189.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.64% or 0.37 to hit $57.14 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $62.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.0912, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.7141.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 97.43.
