Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 4.00% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.0400 at the close. Meanwhile, Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) added 2.93% or 0.200 points to end at 7.020 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 2.50% or 0.030 points to 1.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which fell 5.67% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.599 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 5.12% or 0.017 points to end at 0.315 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was down 4.59% or 0.0090 points to 0.1870.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 41 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.93% or 0.200 to 7.020.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.17% or 14.99 to $1297.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.25 to trade at $49.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1269, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.58.
