Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Resources and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iaso (AT:IASr), which rose 6.63% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.418 at the close. Meanwhile, Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 6.21% or 0.022 points to end at 0.375 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 6.02% or 0.380 points to 6.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metka (AT:MTKr), which fell 16.74% or 1.18 points to trade at 5.87 at the close. Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) declined 4.89% or 0.300 points to end at 5.840 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was down 4.76% or 0.010 points to 0.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 38 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metka (AT:MTKr) fell to 3-years lows; falling 16.74% or 1.18 to 5.87. Shares in Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) rose to 5-year highs; up 6.02% or 0.380 to 6.650.
Gold for February delivery was down 3.06% or 35.65 to $1128.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.90% or 0.46 to hit $50.58 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.13 to trade at $53.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.20% to 1.0408, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8381.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.22% at 103.27.
