Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Household, Construction and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 9.32% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.48 at the close. Meanwhile, FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 6.51% or 0.140 points to end at 2.290 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 4.29% or 0.12 points to 2.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Reds (AT:CAMr), which fell 9.44% or 0.032 points to trade at 0.307 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 7.93% or 0.023 points to end at 0.267 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was down 7.34% or 0.039 points to 0.492.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.65% or 6.90 to $1061.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.96% or 1.12 to hit $36.75 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.82% or 1.06 to trade at $36.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0917, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7358.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 98.39.
