Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Utilities and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Reds (AT:CAMr), which rose 6.13% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.329 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 3.74% or 0.004 points to end at 0.110 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 3.48% or 0.024 points to 0.714 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 9.09% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.46 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 5.02% or 0.015 points to end at 0.284 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was down 4.23% or 0.022 points to 0.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 39 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.87% or 10.95 to $1275.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.49% or 1.11 to hit $45.77 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.08% or 1.40 to trade at $46.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1433, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7908.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 93.77.
