Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Resources, Construction and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 10.58% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.115 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 7.14% or 0.006 points to end at 0.090 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 3.46% or 0.011 points to 0.329 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Frigoglass (AT:FRIr), which fell 8.55% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.31 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 3.48% or 0.008 points to end at 0.222 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was down 3.27% or 0.13 points to 3.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 40 to 34 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.41% or 17.20 to $1241.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.04% or 0.77 to hit $36.98 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.46% or 0.98 to trade at $38.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1392, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8086.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 94.38.
