Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Household and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 6.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 19.61% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.305 at the close. Meanwhile, Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) added 16.28% or 3.50 points to end at 25.00 and Jumbo (AT:BABr) was up 14.47% or 0.890 points to 7.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank (AT:BOAr), which fell 2.82% or 0.002 points to trade at 0.069 at the close. Dromeas (AT:DROr) declined 2.75% or 0.003 points to end at 0.109 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was down 1.42% or 0.02 points to 1.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.57% or 6.70 to $1177.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.89% or 0.54 to hit $60.92 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.83 to trade at $64.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.39% to 1.1182, while EUR/GBP fell 0.82% to 0.7108.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.05% at 95.52.
