Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 2.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 14.09% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 8.74% or 0.009 points to end at 0.112 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 8.66% or 0.059 points to 0.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 8.05% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.497 at the close. Terna Energy (AT:TENr) declined 3.76% or 0.08 points to end at 2.05 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) was down 3.42% or 0.0500 points to 1.4100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 37 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.24% or 2.60 to $1100.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 5.99% or 1.77 to hit $31.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 6.15% or 1.80 to trade at $31.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.0827, while EUR/GBP fell 1.23% to 0.7553.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 99.34.
